Relatives of Tamil civilians who disappeared during the civil war staged a protest on Friday in Colombo and vowed to continue their struggle for justice.
The activists demanded more should be done to find their loved ones, calling on the government to release information.
About 100 activists, including Hindu, Buddhist and Christian leaders, turned out.
“Disappearances are still a cause of agony for many parents, and they do not know where to get help,” said Hindu Priest and secretary for the Release of Political Prisoners Movement Perumal Boominathan. “The war has been over three years, but their children remain missing.”
More than 12,000 people are missing as a result of the war, according to the United Nations.
