INDONESIA: Divine Word Bishop Gerulfus Kherubim Pareira of Maumere has asked all members of his diocesan commissions to draft cohesive work programs. “These work programs should be drafted based on solidarity as an expression of our responsibility to God and all people,” Bishop Pareira told 110 priests, nuns, seminarians and laypeople at the Jan. 10-11 meeting in Wisma Nazareth in Nele. The bishop said lack of knowledge, pastoral skills and funds must not prevent members of his diocesan commissions from “building an independent local Church.” IJ12838.1636
