Jesuits confirm new Philippines head
Father Antonio Moreno has been confirmed as the new head of the Jesuits in the Philippines following the reassignment of Jose Magadia as counselor for formation in Rome.
The promotion of Fr Moreno from president of the Ateneo de Zamboanga, a Catholic and Jesuit university in western Mindanao, to father provincial of the Philippine province was confirmed in a memorandum on Saturday.
Fr Moreno gained his BA in Pre-Divinity at the Ateneo de Manila University before heading to Britain where he read Development Studies to doctorate level.
He is the current vice-president of the board of trustees of the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines.
