HIV/AIDS age profile 'getting older'

Experts say they are alarmed at an increase in homosexual retirees who are HIV/AIDS carriers.
Homosexuals are spreading HIV/AIDS in China, Shao Yiming, the chief scientist on HIV/AIDS at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, said on March 12.
This may be due to a conceptual change in society on sexuality, he said.
The next stage of HIV/AIDS prevention work will be more difficult as the infection rate among homosexual groups is increasing fast, he said.
“In the past about 70 percent of HIV/AIDS infections were transmitted through drug use but now it is surpassed by sexual transmission,” said Li Yinhe, a leading sociologist and sexologist in China.
