Floods kill 2 in Bicol region reporter, Manila

A mother and her eight-year-old daughter died in Camarines Sur province during a weekend of heavy downpours  a government anti-disaster agency said today. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said Ludiche Remudes, 35, and her daughter, Jessa Mae, were swept away by flood waters while crossing a river in Buhi yesterday. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration has reported several flash floods and landslides in the western part of Luzon due to heavy rain. Flooding was reported in Camarines Sur, affecting at least 600 people, while 26 villages in Bulacan province were hit by . Manila and nearby cities were not spared from the flash floods. Classes were suspended in many parts of the country because most schools were still flooded today.
