An interactive theatrical event was held last week to highlight ongoing discrimination against sanitary workers in the country. The event, organized by the Major Religious Superiors Leadership Conference of Pakistan, was held at the Bait-el Church compound and was attended by about 80 people. Javed Yousuf, a sanitary worker who attended, said the performances fairly depicted the kinds of discrimination he and his fellow workers face. “Payments are never on time. I even have to buy my own uniforms, brooms and buckets although the government has allocated funds for that,” he said.
