Catholic retiree Albert Chen departed to Hong Kong yesterday to begin a solo cycling pilgrimage around the world. The 62-year-old retired teacher will spend 68 days in Hong Kong, Macau and 14 provinces and regions in mainland China. Before his departure from Taichung, he said he expected his first leg to be relatively easy as he had experience traveling in mainland China since 2000 when he taught in a school for Taiwan children in Dongguan, Guangdong province. “I will go inside any Church that I pass and share my faith with local Catholics that I meet there,” he said.
