Chunchon diocese establishes communications department

KOREA: The public relation’s office of Chunchon diocese has been elevated to become the Culture and Communications Department with an aim to improve communication and its cultural pastoral ministry. Bishop Lucas Kim Woon-hoe wants “to make the Church to have more impact on society by strengthening communication and culture,” said Father Bartholomew Choi Gi-hong, the department’s new director on February 11. “The importance of the media has greatly increased,” Father Choi noted. “In the 21st century, it is essential for the Church to actively use media both within and outside of the Church,” he told KO13273.1641
