Christians today launched an annual global prayer vigil for peace and reconciliation in Nepal. Pastor Bhab Ghale, chief coordinator for the event, said this year’s vigil has seen the inclusion of a more diverse body of believers. “We started 10 years ago as a small group but it is growing each year.” The vigil is to last 40 days and includes cultural events and a series of thematic prayers that will see participants board airplanes and river rafts to petition for peace and stability in the country. Organizers this year say they used social media to recruit more Christians to attend the event.
