Catholics to climb mountain for poor

The bishop of Taichung diocese will lead more than 20 volunteers of different nationalities and five diplomatic representatives in Taiwan to celebrate Mass on the highest mountain in Taiwan.

Bishop Martin Su Yao-wen and the group are set to will climb the 3,592 meter Yushan Mountain on June 22 and celebrate Mass.

The event is part of the Summit for Hope 2011 activity.  About 100 volunteers from around the world will climb eight mountains in different countries around June 20-25 to raise funds for the poor in Africa.
