The minister, He Sumaisem told a local newspaper that Iraq’s Ambassador to the Holy See, There Habib Sadr had told the Ministry of Tourism of the pope's wishes and offcials had approached the prime minister to work out the requirements for a visit. He added that the ministry has prepared a tentative arrangements for the Pope’s visit, which will hopefully take place early in 2012.
