Fighting HIV/AIDS in Nepal
In Kathmandu, Indian sisters of the Congregation of the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament operate a hospice for women and children suffering from HIV/AIDS by the name of Karuna Bhawan - House of Compassion.

Nepal’s first cases of HIV/AIDS were reported in the late 1990s, brought into the country by thousands of migrant workers returning with the infection. The sisters were the first Catholics in Nepal to respond to the crisis by opening the hospice.
