Puray is an isolated community, high in the Philippines’ Sierra Madre mountains. In August it found itself in in desperate need of emergency relief.

The area was devastated by the same monsoon rains that flooded Manila in August. The rains wrecked dwellings and, more pressingly, completely washed away the community’s crops and food reserves.
