UCAN needs your support
You are why we do what we do - report, describe, comment, review. It is to bring to your eyes just what life is like for believers across Asia that we publish UCAN.
But as you know, the effort needs to be sustained if it is to have continuing effect.
UCAN publishes some 150 stories a week in four languages across six websites. We are grateful to benefactors in Europe and the US who support us. But those countries and the Church there are under increasing financial strain and their generosity no longer covers our costs.
We need financial help from our readers to sustain our efforts. Our reporters, editors, video producers and photographers all have families and we need to support them. They do excellent jobs, but they can't do their jobs for nothing.
Will you help us to sustain UCAN? Please click here to help.
Thanks in anticipation.
Fr. Michael Kelly SJ
First of all, thank you for taking the time to look at this. In today's busy world, I truly appreciate it.
For the first time in our 34 year existence we've had to make a concerted appeal to you and all our readers to help us bear some of the expenses of running UCAN and ucanews.com.
We've been supported up to now mainly by Catholic bodies in Europe and the USA. But as you know, times are not so easy there and they simply cannot afford to be as generous as they would like.
Yet our costs continue and even increase, as they do with any organization of our scale, reach and ambition. Chief among them are the ongoing costs of embracing new technology as we did most visibly with our recent website re-launch and training keen young Catholics across Asia to be fully fledged, contributing journalists.
Please can you help? Even a simple donation of a dollar would be appreciated. But if you are able to offer a larger sum or, better still, pledge to make a regular donation, that would be wonderful.
