Who we are

UCA News was launched in Hong Kong in 1979 as a Catholic news service in response to increasing demands for the exchange of information within the Church of Asia.

The mission of UCA News is: "To report news about and of interest to the Church in Asia."

For the last 30 years, UCAN has been gathering and disseminating information on Catholic Church life and Church concerns in this part of the world. Thanks to the generous support of benefactors, it has become the largest Church news service in Asia and one of the largest in the world.
