Millions have ‘psychiatric illnesses’
One in six South Koreans has experienced mental illness such as depression or anxiety, according to a sruvey published today.
The Ministry of Health and Welfare issued the survey, highlighting the fact that some 16 percent of some 6,000 respondents aged over 18 suffered from a mental disorder during last year.
If extrapolated across the country this would equate to around 5.7 million people with psychiatric illnesses, it added.
