Poor get chance of Catholic education
A Catholic school in Bangkok archdiocese staged a fundraising event on February 3 to provide scholarships for poor Catholics to study there.
St Peter’s School in Thonburi put on an acrobatic performance from China attended by around 3,000 people. Others who did not attend also donated to the fund.
The school’s project to provide scholarships for poor Catholic students began with 10 students this year.
“Providing the opportunity for Catholic children to study in Catholic schools strengthens the foundation of the Catholic Church here. We see that many Church leaders today and those who support Church activities have gone through Catholic schools,” added Father Witchukorn.
