Fifteen Catholic youth ministers visited a disabled care facility as part of pre-Christmas celebrations last week.

Members of the Catholic Youth Ministry (CYM) spent December 23 with 50 physically or mentally disabled residents of the Home of Love, run by Missionaries of Charity Mother Teresa in Lahore.

Most of the residents have been abandoned by their families or rescued from homelessness, said Father Ashraf Gill, director of CYM.

“It is one of a series of compassionate visits during the Christmas season. We wanted the youth to practically experience Christ.

Volunteers spent the afternoon distributing gifts, singing songs and talking with residents of the Home of Love.

Fr Gill also organized a separate visit to a home for disabled youth in Youhanabad in Lahore last week with volunteers from St Francis Xavier Church.
