Church cinema turns digital
Church-run Macau Cinema has become the first local movie theatre in the former Portuguese colony to be able to show 3D digital movies.
“Watching movies is a favorite pastime for most young people,” said Lio Koc-chong, vice-director of the diocesan Social Communications Center, which manages the movie theatre.
By upgrading it, “we are showing our audiences that the Church is concerned about their needs.”
A new digital receiver can pick up satellite and broadband signals that offer a wider variety of movies for audiences and picture resolution is four times higher than in places that show non digital films.
