Archdiocese exhibits miracle images

An exhibition from the Vatican of illustrations of Eucharistic miracles from 750 to 2005 opened yesterday in the Archdiocese of Jaro in Iloilo City.
The photographs and illustrations, mounted in 140 panels, will be on display until December 3 at the Pacita Sia community center inside the Mary Immaculate Parish.
Speaking on November 7, Jaro Auxiliary Bishop Gerardo Alminaza called on the faithful “to find God in everyday life” to survive tough times.
The opening of the exhibition is in time for the centennial celebration of the parish. Bishop Alminaza said the event is also a prelude to the recent declaration of the Year of the Faith in 2012 by Pope Benedict XVI.
He urged those who will be viewing the exhibits not to rush their viwing of the different panels but take time to reflect on every message.
“For me, one or two of those illustration panels are enough for one person to believe that God is real and that He is present in our everyday life. After seeing the exhibits, visitors must then proceed to the adoration chapel and also reflect on what will be the message of God,” he said.
Among the miracles exhibited are apparitions of Our Lady of Lourdes in 1858 and the Eucharistic miracle of Veroli in 1570. There are also Eucharistic miracles of Santarem in Portugal, Krakow in Poland, Lanciano and Siena in Italy.
