Pakistan’s interreligious gathering plan

Paul Bhatti, the Pakistani Prime Minister’s Catholic councillor has announced that there will be an interreligious congress in Islamabad next year, said a report on the Vatican Insider.
“I am certain that the meeting between the world’s religious leaders in Assisi is a very valuable symbolic and concrete experience: it proves that religious leaders can unite and not divide, contributing together to a common end, which is peace and coexistence. I hope that the wind of Assisi blows towards Pakistan too,” he said in a statement to Fides.
The planned interreligious meeting “will be on the theme of harmony and peaceful coexistence and we will be inviting guests of international renown. It will send a message of peace to the entire nation.”
