Teach Filipino Muslim culture and history: mayor
Manila's mayor says the city's students should learn about Muslim Filipino culture and history, to promote better understanding, reports the Manila Standard Today.

Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim
High school students in Manila should learn about Muslim culture to promote better understanding between Christian and Muslim communities, said the city’s mayor, according to the Manila Standard Today.
Mayor Alfredo Lim has urged the city’s education sector to include a subject on Muslim culture, as well as education on Muslim presence that pre-dated the occupation by Spanish, British, Japanese and American colonizers.
“For national unity, for lasting peace, there is a great need for Filipinos to study and analyze Muslim Filipino history since this has not been effectively achieved,” said Lim.
