China’s state run China Daily newspaper reported Friday that the country is preparing to ordain seven more bishops, following several recent ordinations without Vatican approval, said an AP report in The Washington Post.

The newspaper cites the vice chairman of the Chinese Catholic Patriotic Association saying local churches in seven dioceses were getting ready to ordain bishops. It adds that Rev. Joseph Guo Jincai did not indicate when the ordinations would take place.
