Seminary marks tenth anniversary

Jesuit Bishop Julianus Sunarka of Purwokerto shakes hands with seminarians who will go through a spiritual formation in the TOR Seminary of St. Augustine in Tegal
Purwokerto diocese in Central Java recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of its Spiritual Orientation Year (TOR) Seminary of St. Augustine with a Mass.
Jesuit Bishop Julianus Sunarka of Purwokerto and 25 priests concelebrated the Mass on July 14 in the seminary’s hall in Tegal.
“We thank God for the presence of missioners. They carried out their mission in proclaiming the Good News. So now the TOR Seminary should learn how to make the Church in this diocese self-reliant,” the prelate said in his homily.
The seminary’s spiritual director Father Sulpicius Parjono also thanked God for the anniversary.
