Catholic writes of her time with the Tamil Tigers
Niromi de Soyza has authored a book about her life in the midst of the Sri Lankan civil war, and speaks to Australia's ABC.

A new book tells the tale of how a young Catholic girl thrust into Sri Lanka’s civil war became one of the first female soldiers to join the Tamil Tigers, says a report on ABC.
At the age of just 17, Niromi de Soyza found herself equipped with nothing more than a rifle and a cyanide capsule as she became part of what is still seen by many as a terrorist organisation.
The book, Tamil Tigress, tells Niromi’s journey as a child growing up in Sri Lanka, her Catholic education and ultimate involvement with the Tamil Tigers – and how she eventually left them.
The audio of her interview with ABC in Australia is linked below.
