Malolos diocese has launched a campaign against what organizers have called divorce, euthanasia, abortion, total birth control and homosexual union, or D.E.A.T.H.

Father Prospero Tenorio of the St. Anthony of Padua parish in Hagonoy town, said these issues present a threat to Christian life and human morality and has proposed to combat them with L.I.F.E., or “lifting, indwelling, fulfilling and everlasting kindness,” or L.I.F.E.

The campaign came on the heels of a group of same-sex marriages over the weekend in Baguio City.

Gay activists yesterday appealed to Church leaders to refrain from attacking the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people.

Jheza Guiloan of the Progressive Organization of Gays urged religious leaders and government officials to support the rights of LGBTs rather than threatening them.

“Everyone has the right to have a family, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity,” Guiloan said.

Father Tenorio, however, supported the Church’s position on the issues.

“We can easily find fulfillment in life if we will do the will of God,” he said.
