A Roman Catholic priest in the northern province of Ilocos Norte is in hot water for reportedly punching an employee of a cockfighting arena.

Glen Guerrero of Dingras town in Ilocos Norte has complained to the police that Father Ronnie Pillos punched him and even threatened to kill him.

Guerrero said the priest told him to place the fighting cock’s leg spurs or blades properly or else he would kill him. Guerrero reportedly answered back, prompting the irate priest to punch him and hit him with a bottle.

Father Pillos could not be contacted but his brother Nerio, a provincial council member, said the priest was inside the cockfighting arena with some guests.
