Hiking priest reaches Manila

Father Amado Picardal arriving in Manila
“Hiking priest” Father Amado Picardal reached Manila on May 7, 37 days after embarking on a walk across the country for “peace and life.”
Father Picardal left Davao City on Mindanao on April 1 and is hoping to reach Aparri, on the northern coast of Luzon, by May 31.
The walk is to draw attention to his fight for peace in Mindanao and his opposition to the reproductive health bill pending in Congress.
The priest said the walk was tiring but vowed to finish it on schedule.
“I love the experience, especially in teaching people about the Holy Gospel of Life,” he said.
Father Picardal arrived at Baclaran Church on Saturday afternoon where he was welcomed by priests and parishioners.
