Archdiocese offers new sex education course

Seoul archdiocese is offering a new sex education course for young people, following the success of two previous courses this year.
The earlier courses each had an average of 15 attendees, most of them single. Participants on the 10 week course learn about men’s and women’s bodies, reproductive functions, sexuality and the spiritual aspect of the human body, as well as the Church’s teachings on marriage and the implications of parenthood.
It also gives practical instruction to couples on how to practice the Billings method of natural birth control.
"The course doesn’t just offer information on artificial contraception and birth control,” said Christina Lee Seung-yoon, researcher for the diocese’s Committee For Life. “It gives the participants a deeper understanding of how men and women’s feelings change as their bodies change.”
"It also offers them an opportunity to consider the meaning of being parents in their married life," she added.
